Easter Colouring Competition - Win a PacaPod Toy Changer Pod!

21/3/2016

easter egg colouring competiton

I've teamed up with PacaPod, creators of the 3-in1 luxury baby changing bags.
A brand close to my heart - director and founder, Jacqueline and I met way back in the early 90's as designers at Reebok and have been best friends ever since. She has always been incredibly organised!
Get creative with your kids this Easter - I've created 4 Easter Egg templates for you to download, colour and decorate - they are designed to fit into the front pocket of the Toy Changer Pod pictured above.
Great for toddlers to fill with their important stuff (leaves, half eaten rice cakes, a few random pieces of lego....!) and PacaPod have 5 to give away - so get those felt tips, pencils, pastels or watercolours out now!
Feel free to add a bit of Easter sparkle - make it stand out from the rest with pattern, doodles, collage, sequins, ribbon......let your imagination take over and good luck!

The giveaway is open to UK residents only. Competition open until 27th March 2016 at 11:59pm GMT.

A Giant Four Year Old Easter Egg!

We had great fun with this giant egg idea!
All you need is paper, glue, scissors, cardboard, a black marker, oil pastels or crayons and an enthusiastic child!
Use PVA to glue white paper onto a large piece of cardboard, from an old box.
Draw a large egg shape with a 'face hole' towards the top.
Draw shapes on the egg and cut it out.
Colour it in - the eggs are large enough for 4 or 5 children to work on as a group on the floor.
Dance around the house or garden being as silly as possible, take lots of pics and videos!
Happy Easter! x

Decopatch Easter Eggs

Decopatch is a great creative activity for all ages - we do it at home with our 6 and 4 year olds and I also use this idea in schools and hospitals and in group work - it's a repetitive and relaxing activity of tearing and glueing and can become quite addictive!
You can use the specialist decopatch papers, available from craft shops and online, or use tissue paper and slightly watered down pva. Cardboard and polystyrene egg shapes of all sizes are cheap to buy.
Happy Easter!

You can use this activity to encourage your child to explore how colours work alongside each other.
Google Andy Warhol to see his amazing use of colour.
The finished masterpieces make great Easter cards, journal covers or good old fridge art!

Well, the Easter holidays are a week or two away, and continuing the 'hidden theme', which I began for Xmas last year, here's a Modern Art Easter Rabbit for you to colour in!
This is a great activity for children of all ages to explore colour and shape. Older children could try collage and pattern to experiment further.

Following my 'hidden' theme, I've created this 'modern art Easter egg'.

I'm delighted to be getting positive feedback on these abstract activity sheets, which are being downloaded and used in educational settings around the globe. This 'egg' is a great opportunity for budding artists to explore color palettes and how distribution of light and dark affects the finished piece.
